Reflection N.4

Gap Years

Many people do not realize the importance of gap years and think they are a waste of time but in fact, gap years have many benefits and advanteges. Some of these benifits are learning and aquiring the knowledge of other cultures by travelling and exploring other countries. The other reason is that people who take a gap year oftenly travel outside to gain experience and some other skills for college or work. Citizens of the UAE often take gap years for granted and think it is a waste of time. I personally would love to take a gap year so that I could have the oppurtunity to travel to france so that I could experience the art of cooking and to have a look at one of the world's wonders, the Eiffel Tower. Also, the UAE  has many strong connections with the foreign country of Cambodia. Most of them are economy, trade and natural resources but the most important is education. Many of the UAE's important schools and ministries send their tutors to teach and help the youth in Cambodia so that they could get familiar with the modern world.

shock reflection-personal reflection number 3

When I was in high school, something sad happened to me. My friends saw me as an old man because of my beard and my height. The first time they saw me, they thought I was a father of someone in school. When they knew that it was genetic, they started making fun of me and of my looks. They thought it was funny but from inside, it made me feel lonely, sad and disappointed. I thought by moving to a new school I would gain new friends but I was wrong. I stayed lonely and sad for some time and one day when I came home; my father asked me if there is something wrong with me. I told him that the students in school are making fun of me and my looks. He answered simply: “ignore them, they are jealous of you because you represent a real man with good intentions and the will to study without feeling bad.” When I went to school the next day, I asked them the reason to why they were making fun of me and they answered that I was a tall, bearded guy but with a good mind. I told them that God made me the way I am and I cannot do a thing to change it and if you cannot accept me for who I am, then please leave me alone for what you are doing is annoying me and making me feel sad and disturbed. They apologized to me and started befriending me and never made fun of me from that day.
